of this great and neverending natural process.
For hundreds of thousands of years our survival has depended on Nature; now our insane race to «progress» is seriously compromising delicate natural balances. We must therefore safeguard the archives of time and of the experiences gained by mankind during the last millennia as they are preserved under our feet: knowing the past, from which the present has come, encourages us to reflect and face the future with greater consciousness.
